Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-11
Translations of these terms are provided for convenience. If any translation conflicts with the English version, the English version prevails.
1. Acceptance of these terms
Japan Race ("the service") is operated from Japan by the site operator. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Questions: contact@runinjapan.com.
2. What the service is
Japan Race helps international runners discover marathons and road races in Japan. Race information is crowd-sourced, editor-curated, and partly AI-assisted. It is provided for informational purposes only and may be incomplete or out of date. Always verify dates, fees, entry conditions, and requirements with the official race website before registering or booking travel.
Nothing on the service is medical or professional training advice. Race reviews, pacing notes, and training-related content reflect individual experiences. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your health or training.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping access to your sign-in email or social accounts secure. You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate another person.
4. Your content and the license you grant
You retain ownership of everything you submit — reviews, tips, attendance evidence links, and votes. By submitting content, you grant the site operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, translate, excerpt, and distribute that content on and in connection with the service. You confirm that you have the right to submit it.
5. Prohibited conduct
You may not: submit fraudulent or misleading race attendance evidence; post fake, paid-for, or manipulative reviews or votes; harass other users; attempt to circumvent verification, authentication, or moderation systems; or scrape or bulk-extract the service by automated means outside the documented agent endpoints (such as llms.txt and the published agent data files). Reasonable use of those documented endpoints is welcome.
6. Moderation
Administrators may review, reject, edit for formatting, or remove any user-submitted content, and may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Attendance evidence is reviewed manually before verified status is granted, and verification may be revoked if evidence turns out to be fraudulent.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the service, including missed registrations, travel costs, race-day outcomes, or reliance on information published on the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the service (currently zero).
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising from these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Japan.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; meaningful changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
